Description

Old Québec’s cobblestone streets hold over four centuries of French, British, and Québécois history. On this approximately three-hour guided walking food tour, you will visit five stops while learning about landmarks such as Château Frontenac, a former prison, a restored monastery, and possibly North America’s smallest house near the Ursuline Convent.

You will enjoy more than eight tastings, serving as a full lunch, so come hungry. The tour starts with regionally inspired dishes like Lion’s Mane mushroom and duck breast carpaccio reflecting the city’s French heritage. Then, taste Québécois classics like rich Quebec-style pea soup and traditional pâté chinois, followed by fresh maple taffy pulled at a cabane à sucre.

A highlight midway through the tour is hand-made gnocchi with Île-aux-Grues cheddar, cream, shallot, white wine, and black garlic crumble (Tuesday to Saturday). On Sundays and Mondays, this is replaced by oat risotto topped with a rock shrimp salad.

The tour concludes with Quebec-style maple fudge, what many consider the best croissant in the city, and finishes with poutine, the province’s signature dish.

Between tastings, your guide provides local insights and stories as you pass Dufferin Terrace overlooking the St. Lawrence River and the city’s historic astronomical clock.
