Description
Limited spaces are available for three guided canoe-camping expeditions in 2026:
- Malbaie River and its impressive cliffs – July 20 to 25, 2026
- Lièvre River with scenic campsites in Hautes-Laurentides – August 16 to 23, 2026 (8 days)
- Bazin River in Hautes-Laurentides with train access – September 11 to 20, 2026 (10 days)
All trips have a technical difficulty rating of 2 out of 4, welcoming beginners and intermediate paddlers while offering skill improvements. Physical intensity is moderate (2 out of 5), suitable for those in good health, including those with minor manageable conditions who can handle 4-5 hours of daily physical activity.
Comfort is rated 4 out of 5 with wild but comfortable camping. Guides prepare fresh meals primarily using fresh produce and some homemade dehydrated foods. Participants receive neoprene wetsuits, neoprene socks, and paddle jackets.
XPXP leads small groups on canoe-camping expeditions along rivers such as the Broadback, Malbaie, Lièvre, Du Sourd, Désert, Bazin, Gens de Terre, and de l'Aigle, located in Quebec’s Laurentians, Charlevoix, and near Eeyou Istchee / James Bay. These multi-day expeditions offer immersive natural landscapes, rapids, silent lakes, and vast forests far from developed areas. The trips emphasize disconnection from daily life and appreciation of remote wilderness.
Experienced guides familiar with the rivers, strategic shelters, and the best sunset spots lead the tours. Canoe and camping equipment are included. Participants follow the river’s natural rhythm and gather each evening around the campfire.
